Operational information was distributed between DHIS2 and several Excel files. The challenge was not only to aggregate it, but to make it understandable and actionable.

The challenge
Formats, refresh cycles and geographic levels differed between sources. Manual consolidation would have slowed reporting and weakened indicator reliability.
The solution
I built a Power BI model fed by DHIS2 and Excel. Power Query prepares the data while DAX measures calculate performance indicators and regional breakdowns.
Design principles
Each screen answers a single operational question rather than stacking charts without hierarchy.
The same filters behave the same way everywhere, keeping navigation predictable.
Every DAX measure is defined and reusable, avoiding diverging variants of the same indicator.
Data preparation runs through Power Query instead of manual work at every cycle.
The dashboard stays interpretable by an operational team with no technical prerequisites.
Outcome
Consolidated view
Key indicators brought together in a single entry point.
Regional comparison
Regions can be set side by side directly in the tool.
Faster gap detection
Situations requiring action stand out without prior analysis.
Lighter reporting
Updates no longer depend on manual consolidation.
